Durango, Colorado day 4

We made it to Durango!

On our way here, after driving four hours, we stopped at Four Corners. This was my second time here and I couldn't wait to to go again. It was cool to say that the kids and I were all in different states at the same time. Ethan was in Utah, Lauren was in Arizona, Caden was in New Mexico and I was in Colorado. Then we bought some jewelry for the girls and some bow and arrows for the boys at the little shops they have. After that we hopped in the car to Durango.

The drive was intense. Trying to follow someone is not as easy as it sounds. Passing slow cars on straightaways is scary, trust me, I did it multiple times and had a close call once. I have never heard of a round about before and that takes getting used to. I grew up in the mountains so I am used to driving mountain roads, we did a lot of that. The mountains and rock formations on the drive up were absolutely amazing. Though this place is beautiful I still wouldn't move here. It's way to desolate for me. I'm a city girl.

We arrived at our hotel, Durango Downtown Inn. This hotel is right on the river with great views! It's also right next to town and the train station, of coarse that was the first thing we did, went straight to see the train come in. It was great until a storm rolled through. It was pouring and we were out side in it in shorts. So far with traveling the weather has been so weird. We don't know of it's going to be 100 degrees or 70 degrees. It also seems like the storm is following us. Not fair!!

Really wants a toy...

We had to walk back in the rain but it was actually refreshing, plus we were headed back to have dinner then let the kids burn energy in the indoor pool. I am super tired so I am going to bed. Tomorrow we are taking a train ride and have to be up early.
