Bullying Needs To Stop!

OK, This has been on my mind. 

Too many kids & adults are being bullied online and in schools and it needs to stop NOW!

I just saw video of a girl who committed suicide because she was being taunted. 

Here are my thoughts:

Parents: 

You need to be more involved in your child's online activities. Make it a requirement to have the password at all times and check as often as you can to make sure your child is not bullying. I have noticed more and more that the parents of bullies are not around. They are either divorced or working full time jobs which enables the child to have somewhat free reign and take care of themselves and do what they want. I am not saying this is the situation for most but noticing allot of troubled kids this is the situation & depends on how you raise your kids.

Parents of victims, be there for your kids, this is when they need you the most. Take time off work or if you don't have to work, quit. Your child needs you more than ever. If you're a good parent and have brought your kids up right, they will learn to love themselves and not let bullies affect them in anyway. Talk to them is the big key! Talking to your child at an early age and gaining their trust so they can talk to you about problems is a must! If you don't they will feel uncomfortable talking to you as a teenager which will lead them to feel as if they are alone. 

Schools:

Children who promote bullying should be suspended and if it continues expulsion. I feel that if another child beats up another on school grounds they should be expelled and jailed. 

This happens just as much as cyber bullying but is much worse. 

Teachers: 

Pay attention to what's happening at school.  Make sure there is someone 

on guard watching the kids during recess and lunch. 

Volunteers:

ARE A MUST! PARENTS start community watch and rotate at bus stops so there is 

always an adult there! Children should NEVER be left unattended at a bus stop! This is where allot of the bullying happens. Also volunteer at school to be a look out during recess and lunch. 

I have a friend who was beat up 

in high school by another guy. He was kicked in the head and was in a coma for a long time and pretty much mentally retarded when he awoke. We never thought he'd be the same. But he's improving every day. This happened in 1998. He though, will never be able to live on his own and will be dependant on someone. 

This needs to stop and these bullies need to be put in jail and expelled from school. If I find that my kids are bullying any kid, don't think I will not hesitate to send them off to military school! Stay pro active in your kids lives and this will stop! 

Remember: The kids who bully have something going on in their lives that they are not happy with, Whether is child abuse, parents who aren't involved in their life,  or parents who abuse drugs & alcohol. Simply explain that to your child that the reason these kids bully is because they lack something in their life and they use bullying as a way to vent. Help your child understand that it's not their fault they are being picked on. it will make them feel better knowing that these kids have a major issue.
